Background

DailyTasks began with a recurring observation: when study, entertainment, social comparison, and communication all move online, a person can remain busy while becoming less connected to their body, surroundings, familiar relationships, and concrete daily life.

The product is designed for university students who recognize this state but do not need another demanding self-discipline system. It offers small “side quests” that can be completed in the real world.

Core judgment

The product does not try to maximize check-ins or keep users inside an app. Its purpose is to help them leave the screen and complete one low-pressure action. Tasks therefore need to be specific, safe, inexpensive, and realistic within an ordinary day.

The first task system is organized around reconnecting with the body, physical environment, familiar people, and concrete experience. Completion feedback is intentionally light: the task should support life rather than turn life into another performance metric.

My contribution

I defined the problem and target context, reviewed related user needs, designed the task categories and content principles, organized the minimum product loop, and used AI tools to support implementation and testing. I also set acceptance criteria and reviewed whether generated or implemented content matched the intended experience.

Completed outcome

A local MVP now supports browsing tasks, choosing a manageable action, completing it, and receiving simple feedback. The content and interaction structure are in place, and the project can be used as a concrete case for studying human-AI collaboration in individual product development.

Limits and unfinished work

The MVP has not yet been tested with a stable group of public users. The current task system reflects initial research and personal judgment; it cannot establish that the product improves well-being or social connection.

Reflection and next step

The next priority is not adding more features. It is running small, consent-based tests, observing whether people understand and complete the tasks, and learning which prompts feel supportive rather than moralizing or burdensome.
